Planning and Approvals

A comprehensive assessment process

Before the project can be constructed, it must undergo a rigorous planning and environmental assessment process. Specialist studies are being undertaken to assess:

  • Biodiversity/ Ecology

  • Fire and hazard risk

  • Landscape and visual impact

  • Traffic and transport

  • Noise

  • Aboriginal Cultural heritage

  • European heritage

  • Hydrology and stormwater

  • Agriculture

These assessments will inform the concept design and support a planning permit application, that is expected to be lodged in September 2026. The Project will require other approvals, including for grid connection. The project team is committed to ensuring the proposal considers, addresses and mitigates relevant considerations and risks.

Environmental significance

We understand this site carries environmental value.

The site sits within the Green Wedge Zone, is partly covered by an Environmental Significance Overlay and is within a designated Bushfire Prone Area.

We take these considerations seriously and are committed to rigorous environmental assessment, transparent reporting, and design measures that protect existing environmental values.

The site design will prioritise minimal native vegetation clearing, habitat corridors, and will be primarily built within existing agricultural paddocks.
